Have you spent a lot of time slaying eagles and various avian species in Elden Ring, only to leave with a bag filled with mostly feathers of Elden Ring Runes birds--and an entire flock of birds that has flown away? I've certainly experienced this trying to collect the drop needed to make Gold Pickled Fowl Foot, the most popular item to boost the amount of rune drops. It's only natural that they'd be uncommon, as runes are utilized for everything from leveling up to buying equipment and increasing capabilities. However, you don't need to do that all to increase or harvest your rune drops!
There's an simpler method, provided that you've got access to the internet. Elden Ring features something called groups, which allows you to create a password that will ensure that you only see remnants of those who belong to your group. Joining one of them has many advantages such as reducing the amount of messages from trolls that could cause you to miss crucial aspects of the game, or cause you to die. Based on your level of tolerance and desire to suffer, better messages could or might not enhance the game. Interestingly certain players view the hazing that is shared by all players to be a crucial aspect of the game. While I've never liked falling off a cliff in the search of something that isn't there and it's a bit odd to think about what the game could be without doing that.
What I didn't realize, however, was that being a member of a group gives you a reward every time one of your members accomplishes an impressive feat, such as being an Elden Lord or defeating a Shardbearer. Everyone benefits! If this happens the game will show an error message, and your character will emit a gold glow, similar to how they would if you had wolfed down a bird's leg. It's easy to tell if it's active by looking in the upper left corner of your screen and if you see a tiny yellow claw, then you've received it. But you didn't need to do anything to cheap Elden Ring Runes earn the buff. Nice.
