I really don't know this sort of Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta mentality. Do you play these match since they are fun to playwith? Or do you perform with them with the concept that it is only"worthwhile" if those 100s of hours have been carried over like it is some sort of investment? I read stuff online like this all of the time and it's so odd to me. It is a brand new game that brings new experiences to be enjoyed. NG being announced does not somehow negate the fun of now playing PSO2. NG is slated to come out in 2021, that could be over a year from today. That is so much time to enjoy PSO2.
Ummm we just got the game in NA some of us didn't play on JPN servers this entire time and now we're being told any progress we make in the variant we just got is going to be for nothing if you would like to play with the new game. A number people are also spending some money in this type of the game. They need to have just never released this current version in NA and waited until 2021 for this one. I'd have never even begun playing if I understood a new variant of a live service game was coming out. This is the reason Sega is a third party dev now instead of hardware manufacturer. They seriously take you step forward and two steps back all the time and it is frustrating. The life cycle for NA is starting so it will not make sense at all. What is the intention of this game? This is key information.
I mean, for a whole lot of us this match is no more than a fast log in, 5 min daily, then lobby idle until UQ, so that (not) new sport won't actually interfere with what some of us are already doing lol I like this game enough that I will likely continue playing it even after NGS launches, especially if they're serious about encouraging it before 2022. Also the jury is still out on how makeup and other bound things will be handled outside of cheap meseta pso2 their vague announcement. Makeup, high quality, and expansions are character bound but we don't know whether they'll continue over, but if they do then it will not be a complete waste of money.
