A Short History of RuneScape
RuneScape for those not familiar, is a OSRS gold video game created by Jagex developed in Java. It was developed by Andrew Gower with help from his brother Paul Gower, and it was first released as a beta version in 2001.
The version I played is RuneScape 2. which was initially made available to paying members between December 1 from 2003 until March 2004. Of course, the version was released in the official version with the title RuneScape while the original game transformed into RuneScape Classic.
RuneScape has gone through a significant transformation since I started playing it in 2005. It's virtually unrecognizable in a lot of aspects. In all honesty, I'm unable to stay up to date with all the evolution and I'm not willing to change to the new features, so I continue the game RuneScape 07. or Old School RuneScape or whatever they choose to call it right now.
What is Old School RuneScape?
Here's the basic background of the Old School in order to make sure it's clear. On February 15. 2013 Jagex released the players with a poll to decide if they should launch an additional version of RuneScape starting in August 2007. The version was made available to players from February 22nd, 2013. and was made available open to all players on February 19. 2015.
OSRS the way it's frequently referred to it is the game I return to repeatedly regardless of how many times I'm leaving at last. Why is this?
How do I Play RuneScape
I believe the answer can be discovered in the simplicity of a few features of this game as well as my choice of how I play it. OSRS offers a quest-based system, but I usually do not finish quests unless recording for my very unpopular YouTube channel. The way I like to go is to master. This means, I train non-combat-related skills.
Why I Love Skilling
Why do we need to be skilled? It's because it's mindless and easy to relax. There's no worry about being lost or dying such as you would during training for combat or completing quests. I like playing games to unwind, not to be overly stressed.
I was briefly a friend during my freshman year in high school. I moved months later and we fell out of contact. She explained to me that she played RuneScape to get away from the pressure of our magnet program once she returned to her home. This was an idea I backed with completely. (Being in the magnet program at high school can be stressful but that's a different subject.)
Utilizing OSRS to multitask
This brings me back to the reason I keep returning to OSRS. It's not just unfocused and relaxing, OSRS is great to be able to multitask. My brain functions in a way that is makes me more productive when I'm able to focus on my work and be mindlessly working at the same time. For instance, as I type this, a TV that I'm not paying much focus on is in front of my eyes. I'm not even watching it, however, having it on allows me to focus on what I really would like to focus on.
Why I Love Farming
My favourite skill that I have in RuneScape involves farming. This is a subject that confuses many players. I still remember the day that farming became available. I signed in to see an enthusiastic message from my person who had introduced me to this game, telling me how he had reached in the 3rd level.
For many players, the excitement of the morning quickly turned into frustration as farming seemed to force you to hold off on the opportunity to learn it. The first thing to note is that this is not the case. For the majority of crops, you are able to make a payment to the farmer so that he can watch your crops and then to do something else. (Currently on the map, the next step after every requirement for a crop is the amount to be paid which makes it even easier than it was before.)
Then, I like having the option to relax and wait. Farming is a perfect fit for my desire to have an occasional distraction to finish my work. While I was in college and high school I was constantly preparing my farming skills while studying or working on tasks.
I keep getting pulled back In
After my graduation from college when I decided to Buy OSRS gold stop playing RuneScape using my initial account, thinking it was the final time. I was too busy with freelance work to consider playing simultaneously.
