A everyday questions megathread has been asked about before, but it isn't something that we see as being a sensible solution. We have Sunday, a cycle of regular pinned threads including Silly Question. It is only scheduled for RuneScape gold looks that are biweekly, although this appears to match that criteria. Runescape is not as fast-paced or as big as some other subreddits, therefore it is possible for users to make new articles to ask questions and receive replies that are sincere without overwhelming or flood our subreddit. Unlike some larger subreddits, it's possible because entry frequency is comparatively lower to navigate here.
Connected to this, we need to sticky important posts and announcement/news posts from Jagex frequently, along with the articles which are in our scheduled pins (Silly Question Sunday, Pro-Tip Tuesday, Rant Wednesday), therefore perhaps it doesn't always match a daily pinning schedule, together with rendering the current Silly Question Sunday series obsolete. Also, creating a megathread can give the impression that users are not permitted to create posts to ask questions about Runescape, which is not a view that we support or encourage. Post filtering isn't practical on Reddit for regular post viewing, so it may seem overwhelming for many users to find every post at a subreddit flowing through a feed.
(Post flairs do marginally assist with this.) This number induces while others reach / sexy some articles to be overlooked, and a vast majority of query articles do not reach /hot here since they are rarely upvoted. 1 positive side of not utilizing a megathread is that this allows these posts to have the opportunity to be searched for if somebody has a question later on. Looking for comments on Reddit is more difficult, and searching by title may yield useful results which deters someone from asking. Not to mention, a part of questions asked could be answered on the RuneScape Wiki, which is frequently referred to in the comments.
The volume of question posts here doesn't appear to signify an overwhelming amount that would warrant a daily collection of stickies that are recurring. Maybe the frequency of Silly Question Sunday can increase from biweekly to weekly? This sparks the question of, is the purpose of needing a megathread to further assist or is it to conceal these questions from gamers that don't need to view them's view?
Agreed. I also have some ideas to the sub moderators: create a bot that replies to any thread with"OSRS" or"oldschool runescape" on the title with a URL into the 2007 Runescape sub, so they are now able to know that there's 2 RuneScape subs, there is a ton of clueless people who post here thinking this is actually the OSRS sub simply to get mass downvoted. Also please create a bot that replies to some"is this real?","Only got this email" bogus email/phishing attempt thread, which provides advice about how to Best OSRS Gold site prevent yourself to fall into phishing links; that they need to also forward the bogus email to jaghex together with the email header info so that it gets noticed and taken action against.
